Chris Braun to present “Sizing up settlement: How much do the merits matter?” at the Federal Judicial Center National Workshop for Magistrate Judges

By

Chris Braun of Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP and the Hon. Tim A. Baker, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Indiana, will be presenting at the Federal Judicial Center’s (FJC) 2019 National Workshop for U.S. Magistrate Judges being held from July 14 to July 17 in Redondo Beach, CA.  The FJC conference has more than 300 federal magistrate judges registered to attend.  The presentation,“Sizing up settlement; How much do the merits matter?”, will discuss important factors unrelated to the merits of a case that need to be considered when pursuing settlement.  Judge Baker and Mr. Braun presented on the same subject at the FJC’s National Workshop for U.S. Magistrate Judges in Miami in April 2019.

The Federal Judicial Center is the research and education agency of the judicial branch of the United States Government. The Center provides continuing education programs and specialized workshops in several areas including: intellectual property, employment law, environmental law, law and technology, as well as a skills-based program for mediation.
