By

Theresa Willard and Shelley Jackson will speak on Tuesday, September 20 to attendees at the National Association of Regional Councils’ 2016 Executive Director Annual Conference in South Bend, Indiana.  The conference brings together executive directors, deputy directors, and senior staff of economic development councils to “network, share best practices, and explore opportunities for strengthening professional capacity and development.” Willard and Jackson’s presentation will discuss the implications of the U.S. Department of Labor’s new overtime rule, which is predicted to extend overtime pay protections to over four million workers within the first year of implementation.

Willard represents business and individuals in complex litigation, including in the areas of insurance coverage, environmental law, and health law. She is also a registered civil mediator. Willard is a member of the Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services Commission and she serves on the Joseph Maley Foundation’s JMFamily Advocacy Committee. She received her B.A. from Indiana University in 1986 and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1998.

Jackson counsels clients in regulatory compliance, risk management, and litigation matters, with particular emphasis on employment law, professional license defense, and insurance coverage. She is active in her community and currently serves as vice president of the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation and a member of the Legislative Affairs Committee for the Indianapolis Society for Human Resource Management (IndySHRM). Jackson is a graduate of Ball State University (1996 – B.S.) and Indiana Wesleyan University (2001 – M.Ed.) and earned her Juris Doctorate in 2007 from Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law.
