Shelley M. Jackson Slated to Serve as Vice President of HSE Schools Foundation

The Board of Directors for Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation has voted in a new slate, and Shelley M. Jackson will serve as vice president of the organization in 2016-2017 and president in 2017-2018. Previously, Jackson served as secretary to the Board.  The mission of the Foundation is to enhance educational opportunities, inspire excellence, and engage the community to support Hamilton Southeastern Schools’ legacy of achievement. The Foundation furthers its mission by funding and administering student scholarships and educator grants throughout the district, as well as engaging in dialogue with school and community stakeholders on educational issues.

Jackson is a partner at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of health law, employment law, and insurance coverage. She also counsels parents and teachers on various education-related matters and continues to remain involved in the educational community. In addition to her legal experience, Jackson holds an advanced degree in secondary education and taught high school English for seven years. She is a 1996 graduate of Ball State University (English/Teaching), 2001 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University (Master of Education), and earned her Juris Doctorate in 2007 from IU McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.
