Alma Sana Inc. – Increasing Vaccination Rates Among Children Worldwide with the Support of Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP

By

Alma Sana Inc. is a nonprofit social enterprise aimed at reducing health inequalities among indigenous populations.  Alma Sana seeks to do this through increasing the rates of full and timely immunizations for babies through the mothers’ use of a simple vaccine reminder bracelet, to be worn by her child from birth to age four.  What started as a dream of the founder, Lauren Braun, has evolved into a 501(c)(3) non-profit launched and based out of Indianapolis, Indiana that has received funding from various sources, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  Alma Sana has also been recognized for its achievements in public health by UNICEF, The New York Times, Forbes, TEDx and other healthcare and international organizations.

Alma Sana recently completed its Phase I study in Ecuador and Peru with extremely positive results of more than a 90% acceptance rate by mothers and will now be launching its Phase II study in Nigeria, Pakistan and Colombia if it can raise $100,000.   Alma Sana kicked off its crowdfunding campaign on July 21, 2015 which can be accessed here, and it seeks to engage over 2000 supporters worldwide. Plews Shadley Racher & Braun is proud to support Alma Sana both financially and through providing legal services in the launch of its Phase II studies in Nigeria, Pakistan and Colombia.

Plews Shadley Racher & Braun has assisted Alma Sana with a myriad of legal needs and is excited to continue its partnership with this social enterprise that is affecting positive change in children and public health ministries around the world.  From assisting with the corporate organization, to obtaining 501(c)(3) status, advising on employment law and intellectual property issues, and leveraging its depth of experience in the healthcare field, PSRB attorneys have assisted Alma Sana every step of the way with its mission to vaccinate every child worldwide.
