Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP (PSRB) is pleased to announce that Andrea K. Townsend was selected to receive the Indiana Lawyer’s 2021 Leadership in Law Up and Coming Lawyer Award. The Indiana Lawyer makes its selections based on demonstrated leadership, accomplishment in legal work, as well as volunteer and community work. This year’s honorees were announced in The Indiana Lawyer and recognized at a reception on November 9.

“Andrea’s commitment to her clients and colleagues and her dedication to the legal profession make her an ideal candidate for the Up and Coming award,” said Peter Racher, a partner at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun. “She definitely is someone to keep an eye on.  Andrea juggles leadership roles in our Bar association and a busy caseload and participation in a variety of community organizations, yet manages to keep cool and calm and always finds time to help a colleague with a legal matter.  She strives to help make all her PSRB colleagues better lawyers.”

Andrea focuses her practice in the areas of environmental law and landowner liability, commercial real estate, insurance coverage, complex litigation, and business law. She has written on premises liability and the limited scope of Indiana’s Recreational Use Statute and Agritourism Statute. She frequently works with policyholders in a wide array of insurance coverage matters and counsels established and emerging businesses on corporate formation matters and general business issues. Prior to joining the firm, Andrea worked with the former-Chief Justice of Indiana, the Honorable Brent E. Dickson, the Honorable Tim A. Baker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and the Honorable Margret G. Robb of the Indiana Court of Appeals.
