Brett Nelson named President of Paws and Think, Inc.

Brett Nelson has been named President of Paws and Think, Inc. effective January 1, 2015.   Paws and Think is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the community by using the power of the human-animal bond.  This is accomplished through programs that connect youth and adults to provide positive and life-changing impact. The programs include canine therapy, where a volunteer owner and their dog, as a trained and registered therapy team, provide individual engagement to help kindergartens through sixth graders improve their reading skills by reading to a dog. Therapy teams may also to help people better deal with illness or grief with the comfort of a dog. Through the youth canine programs, vulnerable teens are taught to train shelter dogs basic obedience skills, which allows the teens to learn responsibility and important life skills while increasing the dogs’ chances for adoption and finding a forever home. Nelson has served on the Board of Paws and Think since February 2014.

Nelson is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer with a particular interest in technical and complex litigation. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a range of environmental, insurance coverage, intellectual property, pharmaceutical, commercial litigation and other matters. Nelson is licensed to practice in Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the Seventh and Tenth Circuit Federal Courts of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
