Todd G. Relue focuses his practice on complex litigation, insurance coverage, commercial real estate, and environmental counseling. Todd frequently assists clients with a variety of environmental issues ranging from petroleum releases to sewer overflows to industrial waste and has been successful in obtaining substantial recoveries for individual and corporate owners of environmentally impacted properties. Todd’s strong real estate background also makes him uniquely qualified to guide clients through the complexities of buying and selling properties with environmental concerns. Todd’s broad base of litigation and transaction experience leads him to consider the full range of options for resolving disputes. While he regularly practices in both state and federal court, including appeals, Todd also frequently resolves cases via targeted negotiation, administrative adjudication, and alternative dispute resolution. He understands that problems can often be resolved without the time and expense of drawn out litigation. While continuing to provide expert advice and counsel, Todd values the opportunity to work with his clients to determine the best means of resolving their matters. Todd received his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in Political Science and Communications from Indiana-University Bloomington in 2003 where he was a Wells Scholar and a member of the Indiana University Student Foundation’s Steering Committee. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Duke University in 2006. While in law school, he served as a Note Editor for the Duke Law Journal, was a member of the Duke Law Moot Court Board, and organized community service events as a member of the Duke Bar Association Community Service Board. Among other community activities, Todd is on the Board of Directors for Heritage Place of Indianapolis, chairs the Indianapolis Bar Association's Membership Retention Subcommittee, is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association's inaugural Leadership Development Academy, and volunteers his time assisting the Center for Inquiry at IPS School 384 and the Moot Court Board at the Indiana University Indianapolis Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Todd is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and was formerly associated with Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. in Charlotte, North Carolina.
