Since 1981, Mike has devoted his professional life to pharmacy and health providers. Upon graduation from the Purdue University School of Pharmacy, Mike joined Eli Lily and Company where he progressed through a variety of sales, marketing, strategic planning and regulatory assignments. Mike was granted a leave of absence from Lilly in 1990 to attend law school. During law school and upon graduation, Mike practiced health and business law with the Indianapolis law firm of Hall Render. In 1995, Mike founded his own law firm that grew rapidly by focusing on the representation health care providers, entrepreneurs and businesses. Since that time, Mike has represented hundreds of physicians, pharmacists, pharmacies, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and other health providers. In addition, Mike has represented and litigated numerous physicians in noncompetition disputes. Some of Mike’s other health provider clients have included CVS Caremark, Walgreens Pharmacies, Clarian, Community Hospitals of Indiana, St. Francis Hospitals, Beltway Surgery Center, Indiana Surgery Center of Indiana, and Unity Medical Group.
Mike also represents a variety of non-health related business interests, with a special focus in entrepreneurial law. Mike is also an entrepreneur himself and has successfully founded a number of start-up companies. Mike has served on several corporate, educational and community boards of directors.
Mike received a faculty appointment to the Indiana University School of Law in 1995, where he has taught Food and Drug law for many years. Mike has also served on the faculty of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and the Butler College of Pharmacy. Mike is recognized as one of the top pharmacy lawyers in the country and has received the BV peer review rating by Martindale-Hubble. Mike was awarded a distinguished alumnus by Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 2007. Mike has authored numerous publications on health and pharmacy law and is a frequent speaker at state and national health professional meetings including the American College of Cardiology, The American Pharmaceutical Association and the Indiana Pharmacy Alliance.
