J. Michael Bowman focuses his practice on environmental, health and safety compliance counseling and litigation.  Mike’s engineering training and his 12 years of managerial experience in the chemical industry assist him in this work.  He has counseled manufacturers on compliance with state and federal environmental and safety regulations and has litigated complex technical issues such as flood prevention, environmental cleanup liability and toxic substance control.  Mike received his B.A. degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1985, his Master of Science degree in environmental engineering from Purdue University in 1990, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 2004.  Before entering law school, Mike was an environmental, health and safety manager in the petroleum and chemical industries for 12 years, with responsibilities for all facets of environmental, health and safety compliance.
